Wide Angle Star Acquisition
Wasamon is a highly integrating image processing program for our Wide Angle Star Acquisition system.
Images from remote cameras show the faint start-light. After some image processing, the star position is determined. An error signal between measured star-position and targeted position is fed into a servo system which controls the fine positioning of the telescope. The Wasamon allows a very precise tracking feature while allowing the observer to influence this process easily.
The WASAmon program can display and process images simultaneous on 8 channels. Frames are captured with a frame-rate of 30fps and a resolution of 640x480 pixels. The progam features other finesses such as automatic CCD dead-pixel recognition and elimination.
The screen-shot shows the start acquisition panel and a few cursors which can be freely placed by the user.
